 I will show you simple steps you can adopt to start making money as a writer.With what I've experienced as a writer, it will be of great help if you follow what you're about reading through.

What you must do:

(1) Create a blog: If you're a writer that doesn't have a blog, it means you've not yet started.

Having a blog would give you the stamina to focus on your niche, you get comments and feedback from your followers as well. You build your voice and confidence from your own blog, it is as easy as that.

After some time, you can monetize your blog, AdSense account is needed for your blog to be linked and submitted to Google search console

(2) Coaching:  There are aspiring writers that need your coaching, for you to offer them your service, there must be a specific fee they would have to pay. You have value so you're not expected to offer a free service, you can set up an online class where people pay you for your services. 

As a writing coach you earn nothing less than $30 - $50 for a one-on-one coaching. it's very important you place value for whatever you're doing. Writers are not expected to go broke because your services are versatile.

(3) Writing of Ebooks: You can write ebooks, self publish it and sell your books for people to read all over the globe. Authors make a lot of money from books, you don't have to run ads for the sales. Your books would be selling online even while you're asleep, it never fades. You may want to ask if it costs to self publish a book. It doesn't require money to self publish your books, all you need is to get a graphics designer to give you a very attractive book cover and an editor that would edit your manuscript before publishing.

(3) Writing contents on social media for companies: You get paid for writing contents and sponsored posts on social media, there are so many companies that are still searching for writers to write creative contents to sell their products on Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and even on Twitter. This is the simplest means of monetizing your writing skills.

(4) Work as an editor: You can secure a job in any of the magazine companies as an editor, you get paid in every magazine you edit. 

It's really a good start for writers that had been longing for a good job.

(5) Proofreading: A good reader is needed to proofread a book in order to peruse the context and errors before publishing.

Anyone who reads their contents would drop a comment to ascertain the level of his/her understanding.

That is how they do their proofreading instead of giving out the job to an employee, they need different views from readers.

(6) Freelancing: A freelancer is someone who sells his services to employers without a long-term contract. (7) Ghost writing: A ghostwriter is someone that writes articles, speeches, books, blog posts, email newsletters, web copy and is not credited for that work. The credit goes to his client or someone in that company or business that hired him. Maybe you had a book you wanted to write but you don't know how to go about it, in that case you'll hire a ghost writer to do all the job, after the publishing, the credit goes to you that hired him not the person that did the job.
